Funeral services for Mrs. Edith A. Allen, age 67, who died at 5 p.m. Wednesday, Dec 17 1969, at Lake View Hospital in Danville, Ill., were held at 2;30 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 21 at the Services Thomas Funeral Home in Waynetown. The Rev. John R. Servies officiated and bujrial was in Wolf Creek Cemetery, near Wallace. Mrs. Allen, who had been hospitalized two weeks, was born Oct 27 1902 in Parke County, the daughter of Charles and Lucinda Meyers Coffeen. She was married to Byron R. Allen at Rockville on June 5 1919. She was a member of the Hooton Church of Christ, was educated in Parke County schools and moved to Covington Rt. 2 in 1967. Surviving are three daughters, Mrs. Lois Bracken of Covington Rt. 2, Mrs. Helen Brown of Danville, Ill., and Mrs. Doris Collins of Wallace; one step son, Paul Allen of Nashville, Tenn.; one half brother, Cecil Davis of Waveland; one half-sister Mrs. Mary Sowers of Rockville, 19 grandchildren and nine great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband in 1955; a daughter Mrs. Fern Lindquist in 1962 and two infant sons William and Glenn.
